How To Buy: Amazon.com Cutsheet: Cloudy Bay LED Landscape Pathway Light Color Rendering: 90+ (never buy LEDs that have a score less than 90). A score of 80 is actually worse than fluorescent lighting. Color Temperature: The color temperature can be selected in the field. I recommend choosing 3000K. The 4000K and 5000K options are a 'cool white' and are going to look really blue, which is why I don't recommend them for residential projects. Lumens: 120 lumens per stake mounted light Wattage: 5 watts per stake mounted light. Power Supply/Driver: A remote power supply will need to be purchased separately to provide low voltage power to the lights. For my projects, I like to use this waterproof driver. I like to ask the electrician for their recommendation on where to locate the driver, since there are limitations on how far away it can be from the lights. Indoor/Outdoor: Approved for outdoor (wet) locations where the lights won't be submerged in water. Installation: Stake mounted lighting affords a lot of flexibility in moving the lighting around after the fact. I recommend leaving some slack in the low voltage wiring to accommodate future 'tweaking' of the lighting locations. However, if your project is in a less secluded/safe neighborhood, then you may want to consider setting the lighting into concrete, in order to prevent theft of the fixtures. Saving Cost: This is already a fairly cost effective lighting strategy for pathways. A possible alternate strategy could be to consider string festival lighting.
