Best Value LED Downlight
How To Buy: Amazon Cutsheet: Feit LEDR56/930CA Dimmer Recommended By Manufacturer: Lutron DVLV-103P Color Rendering: 90+ Color Temperature: 3000K Housing Recommended by Manufacturer: Halo H27RICAT IC-Airtight 6” Lumens: 925 Wattage: 10.2 Power Supply/Driver: Driver is built in, and included with the LED. Indoor/Outdoor: Approved for indoor installations. Saving Cost: Changing to a flushmount light can be a method for saving cost on your project. This is because fewer light fixtures are required in order to achieve the same light levels. It should take an electrician less time to install a single flushmount light than several recessed downlights.

Best Value LED Downlight: Tips for Using This Light on Your Project:

Dimming:

All dimmers are not created equal. Flickering and buzzing can often be traced back to using a dimmer that isn’t compatible with the LED, or to connecting too many LEDs to a single dimmer. Quality lighting manufacturers often publish literature on which dimmer lines can be used with their LED light fixture. This particular light manufacturer has published a list of recommended dimmers here (Feit Electric Approved Standard Dimmer List). For my projects I like to use Lutron. It is always worthwhile budgeting for quality dimmers that are compatible with the LED you have chosen.

Value Engineering & Alternates:

Changing to a flushmount light can be a method for saving cost on your project. This is because fewer light fixtures are required in order to achieve the same light levels. If fewer lights have to be installed, then it should take your electrician less time to complete the job, and in turn you should be charged less for light fixture installation. If on the other hand you'd like to find a downlight that is more sleek and refined, I like to use this pinhole downlight from Juno.
